Amex Adds 351 New Properties to Its $600-a-Year Hotel Credit
Ask any Platinum cardholder about their $300 semi-annual hotel credit, and you’ll get one of two answers. Either they forgot it existed until the window was almost closed, or they opened Amex’s search tool, checked properties, and came up empty.
That second problem just got smaller. Amex added 351 hotels to Fine Hotels + Resorts and The Hotel Collection this week, which means a lot more places where you might actually find something.
Here’s what happened, what it means for the credit sitting on your card right now, and the full list, broken out by region, so you don’t have to dig through Amex’s search tool to figure out what’s new.
New Fine Hotels + Resorts and The Hotel Collection Properties
American Express Travel added 351 new hotels across its two premium hotel programs on August 12, 2026. That brings the combined FHR and THC portfolio to more than 3,400 luxury properties in 116 countries for Platinum card members. It’s the single largest batch of additions the programs have made, and Amex timed it to FHR’s 35th birthday.
North America picked up 109 of those, close to a third of the total. That’s a lot of new options for a weekend away without touching a passport, or a longer domestic trip if you’d rather stay on this side of an ocean.
These properties are rolling out in phases over the days following the announcement, first through an Amex Travel Counselor and then onto AmexTravel.com directly.
I Know What You’re Thinking
“Great, more hotels I can’t afford.”
Fair. A lot of these luxury hotels are the kind of places where the nightly rate makes your stomach drop before you even see the resort fee. But that’s kind of the point of the $300 credit: it’s not a discount, it’s a subsidy. Book the right property and the credit can cover most, sometimes all, of a night’s stay, on a hotel you’d never book at full price otherwise.
This list helps you quickly see what’s changed so you can focus on what matters for any trips you’re planning. All 351 hotels have been sorted by continental region, then country, and each indicates if it’s a FHR or THC property.
Elevated Benefits for Platinum Cardmembers
This credit lives on four cards: the Amex Platinum, Business Platinum, Schwab Platinum, and Morgan Stanley Platinum. All four get up to $600 a year in FHR/THC statement credits, split as up to $300 January through June and another up to $300 July through December.
Translation? If you have one of these cards and you’re not tracking your FHR/THC windows the way you track a flight sale, you’re leaving up to $600 a year on the table. Not hypothetically. Actually.

One thing worth knowing: authorized users don’t get their own separate credit, but you can split the benefit across every card on the account.
$100 Property Credit with Booking
Here’s the part that trips people up, and it’s the reason I keep seeing the same question in the comments every time this program comes up: Fine Hotels + Resorts and The Hotel Collection are not the same thing, and the property credit and associated benefits work differently under each.
Fine Hotels + Resorts (FHR) books with no minimum stay. You get daily breakfast for two, a guaranteed 4 p.m. late checkout, a room upgrade when available, complimentary Wi-Fi, and a $100 credit toward property charges (spa, dining, resort fees; varies by hotel).
The Hotel Collection (THC) requires a two-night minimum stay. No breakfast is included, checkout is 4 p.m. (subject to availability instead of guaranteed), and you still get the room upgrade and a $100 on-property credit.
Similar benefits with different features. FHR is the better deal on paper (breakfast for two alone can be worth more than $100 at these properties), but THC properties often show up in cities or price points FHR doesn’t reach yet. These credits offset expenses charged to the room and are not a statement credit like the $300 hotel credit.

Whether you end up at Selman Marrakech, a luxury equestrian retreat in Morocco, ESPACIO Nagoya Castle next to a 17th-century castle in Japan, ROKI Collection Queenstown lakeside in New Zealand with heli-skiing nearby, or any of the other 348 new properties, there should be something for everyone.
